SWIM LESSONS

For two summers, we've been trying to encourage Hollyn to hold her breath and put her head under at the pool. To no avail. She wasn't even going to try a little. So this summer, we decided it was time for her to have swim lessons. It couldn't hurt, and maybe, just maybe the swim teacher could get her to do what in two summers we couldn't. Maybe, she would come away from a week of lessons and be at least able to put her face in. Our expectations were low to say the least. Little did we know how low!

DAY ONE

putting on her "lip glue" to keep those lips shut tight. ahahaha!

seriously!!!! DAY ONE!

I had chills watching her do this! Could NOT believe it! Guess that is
why we should leave some lessons to the professionals. LOL!

DAY TWO

I decided to up the challenge and see if she could get her to swim under water by the end of the week. Perhaps my expectations were too low. Time to see what miracles this lady could work!

Goggles helped her to keep her eyes open for the fish on the bottom of the pool.

Found him!

Practicing kicking

"lip glue" hee hee!

Okay! Just stop it! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?
DAY TWO and she is swimming underwater.
What's next? Jumping off the diving board?

DAY THREE

ALL SMILES ready to meet Ms. Stephanie at the pool!
Special hair-do to keep her hair off her face
since she is officially swimming UNDER water!
WOOT! WOOT!

I am mesmerized! Plus I feel like a complete and utter failure.
I mean seriously...TWO YEARS...and nothing.
Not even an itty bitty bit of her head went under for me.
And it is DAY THREE
and she is SWIMMING
under the water. So exciting!!!

shut up. are you kidding me? nope. she wanted to try jumping.
Momma has learned to have HIGH expectations for this little one!
She met EVERY challenge and then some! :)

with a bit of help...

So happy!

DAY FOUR

This was an all video day! And she was a swimming champion! :)

DAY FIVE

Her head under, kicking, DUDE! She is swimming!!!
and the rest of the day was video!
We just can't believe how wonderful these lessons
were and how truly amazing her teacher is
at encouraging these little ones to swim!
I am IMPRESSED beyond words!
My girl
can finally
SWIM!

And she ended her week of lessons with TWO jumps off the board all by herself!

Whoo Hooo!

Happy girl!

One VERY patient sister! :)
(In case you're wondering...this little lady is already a fish in the water.
She could swim underwater to us last year.
She can float on her back, and sit on the bottom of the pool too!
She was jumping in last year and going all the way under.
Now guess what their favorite thing to do at the pool is?
Yep! Hold hands and jump in together! LOVE IT!)

What a happy miracle - my girl can swim and it is ALL thanks to her amazing
teacher, Ms. Stephanie! She ROCKS!

I am so glad the girls can both swim!! It is alot more comforting to know they have the ability to swim enough if something unforseen would happen.

You go girls!!!!!
